7th grade had an awesome time at the Jump Simulation Center! Students got to see cells from their cheek under a microscope, learned about MRIs, made a cast mold of their finger, made paint and ice cream, and took a tour of the facility. It was a fun filled day!
Kindergarten had a blast this week making applesauce! The students cut up the apples, adding them to a crockpot with lemon juice, sugar and cinnamon to make a tasty treat! Cooking at school is always a great time.

Our students had the opportunity to visit the Community Festival of Nativities earlier this week. Monsignor Brownsey led them in a discussion about Nativities and their history throughout our church and then students spent time exploring, studying, and pondering their beauty.
Three year old preschool students had fun this week creating gingerbread houses. This is a great way to work on building important hand muscles that are necessary for handwriting and pencil strength. Although, I'm pretty sure more frosting made it into their mouths!
Today, Dr. Dillon led a group of St. Mark families to Springfield. They were there to meet with state legislators about saving our scholarships through the Invest in Kids Tax Credit Program. They joined others from around the state who hope to show how valuable the program is.
On Giving Tuesday, could you give of your time and say a prayer for us? Pray for our students, that they may know God. Pray for our families, that they may be a shining light to their families. Pray for our teachers, that their path may be lit by the light of Christ.

Third and fourth grade students celebrated Thanksgiving with a cultural feast. Students brought in food that was culturally significant to their families. This is such a special opportunity to share with our friends about the differences that make us all special and unique!
Our kindergarten, first and second grade students had a fun friendship feast to celebrate Thanksgiving. We love watching their sweet friendships grow at SMS!
As we continue to count our blessings, we count among them our SMS Parents! We work best as a team and having parents on that team makes us a success! Thank you to all the parents for the hours volunteering, the food donated, the prayers prayed and the support for the teachers!

SMS Fourth grade students read the story Balloons Over Broadway and then made their own balloons. They even went on a parade through some of the classrooms, showing off their creative and imaginative designs.
