It's been a week since we invited all our grandparents and grandpeople to breakfast and we are still beaming about how wonderful it was to see them! The students were proud to show them off and share time in the school with them. We can't wait for a bigger, better event in 2024.
Kindergarten students are learning about the writing process and brainstorming ways you can share and tell stories. During a brain break, they enjoyed a friendly game of rock, paper, scissors.
7th and 8th students had the opportunity to see a showing of "Tolton, from Slave to Priest" at PND yesterday.

Our Mom's Night is back and we can't wait to see everyone! We are leaning into fall with chili, cornbread, smore's bars and a fun apple cider cocktail! We are making a lip sugar scrub and painting a fall watercolor wreath that will be ready to frame!
Ms. Revallo and Mrs. Hultgren’s Auction Hike Day took place on a beautiful fall Saturday! It was a challenging and fun hike for our Marksmen group and they had a ton of fun exploring at Rocky Glen!

Pre3 students loved finger painting last week! The conversation was full of wonder about color mixing and the feel of the cold, wet paint. Some students were cautious to get messy, but by the end, everyone was covered in paint!🎨🖌️
Kindergarten students have been busy bees as they start their school year! Learning, playing, growing and exploring day by day.
We are excited about our new little library. The Alavarez family donated the book box and Andres completed his Eagle Scout project by updating landscaping at the Church and school, mulching and helping install the book box. Mrs. Schafer filled the box with books to be shared.
There's nothing better than a good friend, a fun game and a beautiful day with the sun shining! It's a great day to be a Marksman!

The SMS 8th grade class is hosting the first Hispanic Heritage Celebration and we would love to see you there! Join us on Saturday, September 23rd for tacos, tamales, desserts, music, Loteria, games and more! We can't wait to celebrate!
St. Mark School, along with other Catholic Schools in the Peoria Diocese, is raising money for Sacred Hearts School on September 8th. Students can dress in Hawaiian clothing and bring in a donation. No amount is too small to help support this school and their students!

We had a great first day! Our Marksmen showed up ready for the year with a positive attitude and we are here for it! There is nothing like the first day of school and this was one for the memory books.
Yesterday, our staff spent time getting ready for today by focusing on our team. We played games and learned about some strategies of effective teams and how we can be a more unified team. We do this so we are more able to be the teacher YOUR child deserves!
