St. Mark’s Summer!
Ever wonder what happens in a school over summer??!! Well – at St. Mark’s – quite a lot! This past summer, we have been extremely busy. You will notice many new improvements to the building that will make the learning experience for your children that much better!
The front entrance steps have been torn out and replaced with new concrete and brick. New windows have been installed in the junior high wing to provide more natural light for the learning environment. We have also installed new HVAC units in the newer addition, along with the art and music rooms. This past spring, construction on the new wrought iron fencing began and the remaining gates should be in prior to the start of school.
And – it’s still not too late to enroll in St. Mark’s, Pre-K through 8th grade for the 2024-2025 school year. Please call the office at 309-676-7131 for more information. Come join us and see what it means to be a “Marksmen!”

Our school office is open Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00-1:00 and would love to discuss all that St. Mark School has to offer your student.
Our Preschool Program is open for enrollment for the 2024-25 school year. We have 3 day and 5 day options as well as half and full day with before/after care availability. Our day is built around the students and meeting their social, emotional, spiritual and academic needs.
The Arts in Education at the Peoria Courthouse was held earlier in May and our SMS students put on quite a performance! The cast of the musical, Into the Woods Jr. showcased some of their hits, while our school choir sang under the direction of Mrs. Strauss!

We are hiring!
Kindergarten, first and second grade students went to Wildlife Prairie Park for their end of the year field trip! They loved seeing all the wild animals and learning about their natural habitats. They enjoyed a picnic lunch and hiking on the trails.
Our big kids had a great time at the Peoria Chiefs game in May! Their smiles were contagious!
Kindergarten Safari Day was a huge success! Students counted to 100 by tens with animal movements, they climbed like monkeys, they sorted and counted animals and of course, they were a little wild like the animals too!
What a blessing to have so many children receive their First Holy Communion this year! It was a beautiful day in May for this special Sacrament and we are thankful for all those who prepared the students.
We celebrated our students with Awards Day in May. We are proud of them and the way they've grown this year.

How lucky were we to get spoiled by our PSA and all the parents, families and students this year! The teachers and staff felt loved and appreciated and we are so thankful for all the big and little ways you support us throughout the year!
As we closed out the year in our Atrium, we celebrated Pentecost and the gift of the Holy Spirit. How beautiful is the joy of a child?
Earlier in May, we honored the Blessed Virgin Mary as we crowned her Queen of Heaven and Earth. Our new first communicants from second grade and our eighth grade students processed in with flowers for Mary's altar. Special thanks to Mr. Rodolfi for the photos.
