What's better than picture day? Picture day that falls on a Taco Tuesday that's also National Chocolate Milk Day!

Don't forget Picture Day tomorrow!

Our 3rd and 4th grade students had their first monthly Ag in the Classroom on Friday. Josh Josephs, from the University of Illinois Extension Office, came to teach them about Hydroponics. He started an experiment using lettuce seeds, water bottles & a nutrient mix. #stmarkscience

Our students in kindergarten, first and second grade had a special visitor from the Organ Wise Program, an Extension of the University of Illinois. Julie Dantone brought her doll and introduced the students to different parts of their bodies, like Sir Rebrum (cerebrum). So fun!

Picture Day is right around the corner! Here is more information from the Photographer.

There is nothing better than starting the day with Jesus. One of the blessings of a Catholic eduction at St. Mark School is the opportunity to celebrate the mass weekly.

4th grade scientists did an experiment using paper, markers, a magnifying glass and natural light from their windows. These simple materials helped them build and understand how our retinas work. #stmarkscientists

St. Mark School Picture Day is coming up next Tuesday and we are looking forward to seeing our students all dressed up and with smiling faces!

Our preschool students took a tour of church this morning. Mrs. Faley taught them how to genuflect and make the sign of the cross in front of the altar, as well as how to sit, stand, and kneel in the pew and how to walk in line for a Communion blessing. Bless the little children.

Spirit wear is coming home with your student today! If you didn't get a chance to order in September, we will be opening the store back up in October, just in time for any Christmas orders to arrive!

Our 3rd graders are reading a poem with a fitting title, Friends. Poetry helps with rhyme, repetition, and rhythm, which are foundational language skills that help children with their fluency. Plus, poetry is fun and can help inspire students in their reading and writing.

After a busy morning learning, lunch is always looked forward to. Today, Mrs. Dwyer and the kitchen crew made a crowd favorite, breakfast!

S.M.A.R.T. Kid parents, don't forget we meet today after school until 3:55!

Catechetical Sunday is a day to recognize the catechists who teach the tenants of our faith. It is also a day for catechists to formally and publicly commit to this important work. May God’s blessings be with them all.

Come out to support our SMS Marksmen Girls Basketball teams as they take on St. Jude Fire. Let's cheer loud and proud!

St. Mark School is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and we recognize all the contributions our families of Hispanic Heritage offer our vibrant community, today and everyday!

SMS Kindergarten and First Grade students have been busy reviewing and learning new math concepts this week!

Lord, on this Labor Day,
we thank You for the blessing of work.

Our students and teachers are getting settled into the new year! Working hard! 📚

It was an amazing night of fun, food, and fellowship!
