HAPPY SUMMER FROM DR. DILLON

It’s hard to believe we have finally reached our last day of school!  Last Thursday, May 19th we graduated our 8th grade class with a beautiful Mass and ceremony. Best of luck to all our students as they begin their high school career! Congratulations to ALL of our students and their families on all accomplishments.  We are so proud of each and every one of our students at SMS!

As we wrap up, I would like to take a few moments to personally extend a thank you to our incredible school staff who work very hard on a daily basis to guide our children and help them learn and grow. We would be hard pressed to find a more caring and dedicated group of teachers.  I would also like to thank our PSA board and our parent volunteers for the hours of dedication to help enrich our school and build a sense of community for our students.  To all our parents, I would like to say thank you for trusting us with your children, and for your investment and support to provide a quality education for our children.

Students’ report cards will be sent home with your child today. For planning purposes, our first day of school in the fall is August 16.  We plan to kick off our new year at the Taste of St. Mark Event on August 13thand hold a Unpack your Backpack time that evening as well.

Wishing all of you a wonderful summer filled with blessings and God’s grace. Be safe and enjoy the days ahead of rest and relaxation!! God is good: All the time!!

Summer blessing for families:

May we make our homes places of relaxation,

joy, love, peace and safety.

May we be generous and considerate,

not thinking only about ourselves,

but helping others enjoy the blessings of the summertime.

Lord God, Creator of all things,

guide our steps and strengthen our hearts

during these months of summer and vacation days.

Grant us refreshment of mind and body.

May we constantly strive to make a meaningful difference

in the lives of our loved ones and in the world around us

as we enjoy the warm days of summertime.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
