MARKSMEN MEMO
Next week is our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive! Please see the attached flyer for more details. The food drive will be from Monday, November 15th - Friday, November 19th. All donations will go to the WestMark Food Pantry.
Students in 3rd - 8th grades will be taking a field trip to Bradley University for a women’s basketball game to participate in Education Day and watch Ms. Haack (our 3rd grade student teacher). Please keep an eye out for the permission slip that will need to be returned to school in order for your child to attend.

IDPH has released a Holiday Safety Guide. Please take some time and review if you have any questions.
We have had an excessive number of late arrivals. Please remember, late arrivals are disruptive to the teacher and classmates, morning announcements, and the classroom routine. Students must be at school on time each day at 7:50AM. Breakfast will not be provided after 7:55AM.
We have quite a few students showing up to school without a mask. Please make sure your child has a mask each day for school. We have some in case of emergencies but cannot supply a mask each day.
Due to the change in weather, students need to be prepared for recess and PE outside. Students should bring hats, gloves, and coats. Students should also have sweatshirts that are dress code appropriate for inside the classroom. Please remember to LABEL your child’s items such as sweatshirts, coats, lunchboxes, etc. This makes it easier to return items to students who may lose something.
Musical Run Through
Tuesday, November 16 @ 5:30-6:30
Any student in grades 5th-8th that is interested in participating in the St. Mark Musical this year should attend the Musical Run Through. Parents do not need to attend this meeting - it is a chance for the students to see what the Musical is about and get to know the directors. We will go over characters of the show, expectations, and how auditions will be done.
Auditions will take place on December 1st and 2nd, starting at 5:30pm.
America Reads
Bradley University offers free tutoring after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays at St. Mark. Here is the application form. If your child received tutoring in the fall, you will still need to fill out the form for the spring!
Donations Needed
We are also in need of donations of small cups and/or reusable water bottles. The art room is also looking for donations of felt and embroidery thread (any color). Please continue to send a water bottle to school each day with your child.
Mornings at PND
Parents of K - 8th graders, you are welcome join us in our Commons for coffee and donuts to learn more about the highly praised AP Capstone Diploma Program.

Auction Committee - HELP NEEDED!
The St. Mark's School Auction needs you! This very fun event, which is the school's largest fundraiser, is scheduled for March 12. That may seem like a ways away, but it is really right around the corner! We are very excited to be back in person at the Itoo Hall. The auction committee is a great way to get a group of friends together and do great things for the school at the same time!
For the auction to be successful, we need many parent volunteers. We are looking for people interested in co-chairing the auction and also chairing various committees, including live auction, decorations, dessert dash, and check in/check out.
