MARKSMEN MEMO
We hope every family had a wonderful 4 day weekend and a great couple days back! It is starting to get cold outside. Please remember to LABEL your child’s items such as sweatshirts, coats, lunchboxes, etc. This makes it easier to return items to students who may lose something.
We are also in need of donations of small cups and/or small water bottles. Please continue to remember to send a water bottle to school each day with your child.
Our Book Fair will be the week of October 18th.
Wednesday, October 20th is an 11:30AM dismissal.
PND Information Night @ 6:00 pm
St. Mark’s picture day is Tuesday, October 26th. Retake day will be Wednesday, November 10th.
Peoria Notre Dame will be hosting an information night for 8th grade students and their families on October 20th at 6:00 pm. Please see the attached flyer: PND Flyer
Scholastic Book Fair
We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair. Hosted by our volunteers, this event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As always, all purchases benefit our school.
After missing out on many beloved traditions, our fall Book Fair will be a familiar, welcome, and safe event for our students. Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place from Monday, October 18th through Friday, October 22nd.
Monday, October 18: Preview day only for Teachers and Students: NO IN PERSON SALES THIS DAY
Tuesday, October 19: Book Fair Sales 9 am to 4 pm
Wednesday, October 20: Book Fair Sales 9 am to 12 pm
Thursday, October 21: Book Fair Sales 9 am to 12 pm AND 2:30 pm to 8 pm
Friday, October 22: Book Fair Sales 11 am to 4 pm
Our Book Fair offers eWallet, a safe and secure alternative to cash. Simply create a free account to add funds and/or invite family and friends to contribute so your child can select their own books. Any unused funds can be spent at The Scholastic Store Online or to fund a future eWallet.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop online at our school’s Virtual Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book only orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.

Trunk or Treat
PSA Trunk or Treat is Back!
Sunday, October 24th
St. Mark School Blacktop
3pm-5pm (Trick or Treating begins at 4:30)
$5 per family
Includes: chili bar, popcorn, water or soda, spooky playground, games, face painting and more!
Outside drinks and food are allowed.
The cars will be set up on the school blacktop (decorated or not, your choice). Families are welcome and encouraged to bring their own candy to pass out for the event. The playground will be "decorated" for Halloween, along with games and face painting. PSA will be providing the food and drink.
Online Learning
As a reminder remote instruction is only available for students that test positive for Covid or are exposed to a positive case and are unable to attend school.
Last minute notice of absence does not guarantee that remote learning will be available. Remote instruction may be available only if other classmates are quarantining.
Please note that we do not issue Chromebooks for general absences. Students will need to use a personal device if completing work while not in attendance.
Dress Code – last day for shorts this year is Friday, October 29th
Beginning on Monday, November 1st, and lasting through March, students must wear the uniform navy blue twill pants. Also, the only sweaters allowed are the navy blue cardigans, crew, V-neck, or navy blue vests. The only sweatshirts allowed in the classroom are navy blue sweatshirts or St. Mark sweatshirts. No leggings are to be worn as pants. Girls can wear leggings in place of tights with a uniform skirt or jumper.
