2019-2020 Registration

Please complete the online registration forms as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact the school office. The registration fee is now $75. We need to finalize enrollment numbers in order to order textbooks, etc. If you know that your child will not be returning to SMS in the fall, please notify the office as soon as possible.

May Crowning and Awards Day

Next Friday, May 10, is our May Crowning and Awards Day. The day will begin with May Crowning at 8:30AM followed by Mass at 9 AM. All students are invited to bring flowers and participate in the May Crowning procession to honor our Blessed Mother. (Due to allergy concerns, please do not send lilles.) We will begin Awards Day in the gym immediately following Mass. Parents are invited to attend all events.

S.M.A.R.T. Kids

S.M.A.R.T. Kids will meet on Monday, May 6 and Monday, May 13. May 13 will be the last meeting of the year and there will be an ice cream social.

Field Day

We are very excited that one of the greatest day of the year is approaching us ….. Field Day!

Our Field Day will be held Wednesday, May 22nd the rain day will be Thursday, May 23rd.

We are also looking for empty tissue boxes, please turn them into the office or Ms. Medland.

This year we are also providing at opportunity for students, teachers, and volunteers to purchase a Field Day   t -shirt! These shirts will be worn on the day of Field Day and future spirit days. These shirts are NOT REQUIRED.


Parents…sorting and packing your child’s uniforms, and don’t know what do with clothes they have outgrown? Please consider donating them to the school. We are looking for clean uniforms and spirit gear in good condition (no rips, tears, or stains, please.) Instead of packing them away, send them to us before the end of the school year. We will store and sort them for our sale in the summer.

School Physicals for 2019-2020

Remember to make your appointments EARLY for the physicals, dentals, eye exams that are required for next school year (2019-2020).


1) PHYSICALS-Students entering K, and 6th grades are required to turn in their PHYSICAL forms before the first day of school. All immunizations must be up-to-date along with verification of lead screening.

2) DENTALS-Students entering K, 2nd, and 6th grades are required to turn in their DENTAL forms before the first day of school.

3) EYE EXAMS-Students entering K are required to turn in their EYE forms before the first day of school.


In addition, any students participating in sports are required to have a Sports Physical on file before they are allowed to attend any practices.

SMS Talent Show

Do you have a cool talent you’d like to share with our school? The annual Talent Show will be on Tuesday, May 21. Every student wishing to participate must audition to have their talent approved. Students will need to sign up for one audition time either on Tuesday, May 7 or Wednesday, May 8. Students who are selected / approved to participate will need to attend the Dress Rehearsal on Tuesday, May 14. Sign-ups will be on the bulletin board in between the gym and the office under the TV monitor. Any questions may be directed to Miss Connon.


The Scrip program enables the school to purchase gift cards at a discounted price. Individuals purchase the gift cards for face value and the school receives the difference. Percentage of profit varies from retailer to retailer. In addition, Krogers shoppers can register their Kroger card on Kroger.com for the school to receive a donation each time they make a purchase. (No gift card purchase needed.).  Thank you to this who have done this… we have seen a slight increase in activity.  


We would like to encourage our families to utilize our Scrip program whenever possible. Using Scrip benefits the school, and can earn a rebate back to families that purchase enough Scrip to earn the school $50 in profits. After the first $50 in profits, the school and family share any additional profit for the year.This rebate can be applied to things such as lunch balances, Aftercare, or tuition.  


Don’t forget that Scrip gift cards are available for purchase in the school office during normal office hours and after Masses on the weekends.

Totus Tuus

St. Mark’s Totus Tuus program will be held June 23-28.  Contact Peggy Dwyer at 303-9320 or Terry Mischler at 497-2838 with questions.

Illinois “Invest in Kids”Tax Credit Program

Are you interested in receiving a Tax Credit? What if it could also help the students at St. Mark School? PND Dance Camp

The PND Dance Team will be having a dance camp for girls 4th-8th grade on June  10-13. Cost is $50 per dancer. You may contact Tally Sevier at pnddanceteam@gmail.com  with questions.


PND Cheer Camp

PND will host a kids cheer camp June 3-6 from 8-10AM. This camp is open to all incoming K-8th students. Cost for this camp is $50.



Peoria Notre Dame Junior Football League is now accepting registrations at www.ndjfl.com They offer flag football for ages 5-7 and tackle football for ages 8-14. They also offer Cheerleading for ages 8-14. Your help in registering before June 1st allows them to order the right amount of equipment for the upcoming season. PND Fall Musical

Mark your calendars!! Auditions for the Fall musical will be Tuesday, May 14 from 6-8PM and Wednesday, May 15 from 3:15-5:30PM in the auditorium. We had a great time with Footloose and we look forward to next Fall’s BIG musical with lots of parts and dancing. Show to be Announced Soon!


**We will also have an informational meeting for all incoming freshman on Monday, May 13 from 4-5:30PM in the commons. We will be reaching out to all incoming freshman and working with area middle schools to announce this as well. Rehearsals will start the week School returns in August. Monday-Thursday from 6:00-8:00PM.


PND Leprechaun Academy

PND will once again be offering Leprechaun Academy for potty-trained 3-5 year olds. Contact PND for more information on this program.

Peoria Public Library Summer Reading Program

The Peoria Public LIbrary is offering a free summer reading program for all ages. You can sign up at any library branch beginning this month.

Performing Arts

Peoria Area Performing Arts Studio has opportunities available this summer and next fall. They will  have auditions for our competitive show choirs coming up this week. They have musical theatre, show choir opportunities and acting classes for any age. This summer they will offer dance classes, fun camps and more. Check it out.

Bradley WOW Camp

Registration is now open for Bradley University’s World of Wonder (WOW) summer camp for gifted and talented students entering grades 1 – 8.  Two one-week camps will be held at Bradley June 17 – 21 and July 29 – August 2.

Taught by licensed and certified teachers, WOW will provide challenging and hands-on classes in language arts, social sciences, literature, STEM, and art that promote collaboration, higher order thinking, and creativity.  Participants can choose to enroll in one, two, or three classes, or spend the day (including end-of-day recreation). Each class is $99, and recreation sessions are $30 per week.
