The works of art created by our students were amazing and the hallway themes were so creative. Scholarship Opportunities

Did you Know? Your child can attend a Catholic School-Financial Assistance Available–applications due Monday, April 15th

Tuition assistance scholarship grants from the endowment fund established as a result of the Diocese of Peoria ROOTED IN FAITH Campaign and named in honor of Archbishop Spalding, the first Bishop of Peoria, will be available for the 2019-2020 school year for students enrolled in or intending to enroll in grades Kindergarten through 12 in any Catholic school located in the Diocese of Peoria whose families are active members of a Catholic parish in the diocese. All grants will be based on financial need objectively assessed.

Information about the grants and application materials may be obtained from any Catholic elementary or secondary school in the Diocese of Peoria or on the Diocesan website www@cdop.orgunder Catholic Education and then under Financial Assistance. Consult the attachments entitled, “Spalding Scholarship Protocols Procedures 2019-20,” and “Spalding Scholarship Check List 2019-20,”for all requirements necessary to be eligible for an award.

Parents are encouraged to apply online at: online.factsmgt.com/aid. Families of students currently receiving grants are reminded that all grants are for one year only, and anyone seeking to renew a grant for the 2019-2020 school year must reapply.

Deadline date for the completed application is April 15, 2019. Notification of grant awards will be made by mid-June, 2019.

Auction News

St. Mark School Auction Kick-Off

SPECIAL EVENT – ADULTS ONLY – Fundraiser for St. Mark School Auction! We couldn’t think of a better kick off to fill everyone with a giving spirit this auction season, than hosting a shindig in the finest of 1920’s ways…A PRIVATE PARTY at Tannins & Hops – A Modern Speakeasy!

There will be live music, free food, tons of friends and strangers too! It’s sure to be the BEES’s KNEE’s on a cold Sunday afternoon! All proceeds benefit SMS and the fundraising efforts of the annual auction!

Come party like it’s 1927, enjoy the culinary delights and amazing ambiance of Peoria’s only true speakeasy, raise some much needed and appreciated funds for the kids of St. Mark, and get into the giving spirit!

There’s limited ticket availability, and at the affordable price of $20/person, we fully expect this event to sell out quite quickly!



Help With Our Auction

We have lots of fun and easy ways to help with our 20th anniversary St. Mark’s School Roaring 20’s Auction! You can donate a bottle or two of wine or a dessert for our famous Dessert Dash. We also need help the evening of the auction and with lots of tasks leading up to the big day, March 30. Check out the Sign up Genius to see how you can help!


We are also having an auction planning meeting this Sunday, Feb. 10  at 3 pm in the rectory basement. Please join us! This is the largest and most important fundraiser for the school and we need your help to make it great! Thank you!


Want to Win a Pizza Party for Your Child’s Class and Help the School Auction???

The Auction Committee will be collecting any gift cards in denominations of $10 or higher starting Monday, February 11 until March 16th.  These will be used in our gift card mystery pull at the auction on March 30th. Please send in an envelope with your student’s name and grade so the class will receive credit.  The class with the most participation will win a pizza party! Thanks for helping with our school’s most important fundraiser!


Confirmation Projects

Breakfast Fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Sunday February 10th

Make your Reservations! – Reservations will close Saturday morning Feb 9th

(We are not planning to take walk-ins or very limited to ensure we have prepared enough food)

St. Mark Parish confirmation candidates Dominic Taylor, Will Flynn, Jesus Prieto, Joshua White and Zachary Foti will be cooking and presenting a breakfast fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as their confirmation project on Sunday February 10th.

There will be two seatings –

  • First Seating 8:00- 8:30
  • Second Seating 9:30 – 10:30


  • Eggs and cheese Frittata
  • Sausage
  • Blueberry Buckle
  • Cinnamon Rolls
  • Coffee, Orange Juice, Milk

Cost is a donation at the time of admission! Reservations required.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the world’s leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation support patients and family with CF. Nearly every CF-specific drug available today was made possible with their financial support.


Volleyball Camp Saturday, February 23rd

Several of our 8th grade students will be hosting a volleyball camp as their Confirmation project. The camp will be held on Saturday, February 23. All funds will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

8th Grade Italian Beef Drive-Thru Fundraiser

St. Mark’s 8th Grade students will host an Italian Beef Drive-thru Dinner on Saturday, February 23rd from 5:00-7:00 PM. Students will pre-sell dinner tickets at $10 each. On the day of the meal, ticket holders will simply drive-up to St. Mark School, present their pre-paid ticket, and drive off with a delicious meal.

House League Basketball

Attention parents with boys in grades 4-6. Is your son interested in playing a house league basketball team for St. Marks?

PND Family Night

On Feb. 8, PND would like to welcome families to  PND Family Night. Men’s Basketball will play at 6pm and 7:30pm. They will be serving an Avant’s buffet from 5-7pm.


PND Enrollment Night for SMS Incoming Freshmen

Enrollment night for St. Mark students planning to attend PND next year will be held onMonday Feb. 11, 5-7PM.


PND Youth Baseball/Softball

Registration for house league baseball and softball will begin February 1 . Late registration begins after March 15. We offer programs for tee ball, baseball and softball. PND Spirit Gear

You can now order NEW Booster’s PND Spiritwear online and orders will ship within 48-hours. The store will remain open for the rest of the trimester. We  hope to update the store quarterly. Winter Weather Reminder

Please make sure that your child is properly dressed for outdoor recess. This includes a coat, hat, mittens, and pants or leggings for girls wearing skirts. (Girls can wear sweatpants or warmups outside, but they must be removed once recess is over.) We will take the students outside whenever weather permits.

Please be sure that your information is correct and updated in RenWeb so that you receive school cancellations as needed.

Help Prevent the Spread of Germs

Just a reminder that students need to be fever free without meds, no vomiting and no diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school after an illness. This helps to prevent the spread of germs to the rest of the school. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Grandparents Wanted

We are looking for grandparents that would like to volunteer at our school. If you know of a grandma or grandpa that would like to help at SMS, please encourage them to call the office to offer their assistance. We will help them with all necessary paperwork to get started with us. All talents are welcomed!

Limestone Girls Softball Registration

WHEN:  Saturday, March 2th & 9th

TIME:  9:00AM – 12:00PM

WHERE:  Limestone Community High School (auditorium foyer)

COST:  $100 per player.  Families can sell raffle tickets to recover this cost.
