From Our Principal

Dear Friend,

The community of St. Mark School welcomes you to its website! As a virtual visitor you will have an opportunity to catch a glimpse of our school experience. Our programs are strong, our students are enthusiastic, and our teachers are committed to nurturing the best attributes in our children.

In every grade, we foster the growth and development of the whole person. Religious education and its formation of responsible young adult Catholics is the foundation of our parish school. As an academic institution, St. Mark School is dedicated to designing an individualized program of success for each child. Careful planning of classes allows for every child to be known and loved, while providing a broad range of learning opportunities in academics, extracurriculars, service, and leadership.

Additionally, the St. Mark's School difference involves parents being active partners in their child's education. We do not simply enroll a student; we enroll a family. Recognizing parents as the primary educators of children, St . Mark School supports, supplements, and enriches your family life.

Be sure to explore the website. Tour the school. Ask questions. Become a part of St. Mark School family.... A place where Christ is loved, academic excellence is expected, character counts, and traditions thrive!

Thank you for visiting!

Many Blessings,

Dr. Noreen Dillon
Principal, St. Mark School

Financial Assistance

TUITION ASSISTANCE At St. Mark Catholic School we do not want financial concerns to deter any family from enrolling. Several options are available for those seeking tuition assistance. Scholarships through the Diocese, parish, and outside organizations are available, with applications beginning in January each year. Tuition assistance will be based on Peoria Diocesan guidelines using the FACTS aid assessment process. All families wishing to be considered for financial assistance MUST complete this application process online prior to April 15, for the upcoming school year. The FACTS application is required for those wishing to be considered for the John Lancaster Spalding, Kremer Foundation, or St. Mark Parish assistance. All scholarship grants are issued for one school year. Families must reapply annually for consideration. Families are encouraged to apply as early as possible to ensure ample time to gather and submit any required documents. Assistance will be based on need and completing all the required steps. Visit FACTS GRANT & AID to access the FACTS online application. Here is a list of all grant/scholarships that are available: The John Lancaster Spalding Scholarship- an endowment fund established in honor of Archbishop Spalding, the first Bishop of Peoria. Tuition assistance scholarship grants are available to students enrolled/intending to enroll in grades kindergarten through 12 in any Catholic school located in the Diocese of Peoria whose families are members of a Catholic parish in the diocese. Empower Illinois Scholarship- The State of Illinois' Invest In Kids Act funds scholarships for children who choose to attend private schools. Scholarships offered through this program could cover up to 100% of tuition and eligible fees. Interested families may submit an application through Empower Illinois, starting in mid-January. Visit www.empowerillinois.org for more information, and to apply. The Kremer Foundation- This grant that is offered to St. Mark may have up to $1000 scholarships for St. Mark students entering K-8th grade. Email Noreen Dillon at ndillon@saint-mark.net for more details on these opportunities. St. Mark Parish Scholarship: All families who complete a FACTS application will also be considered for additional assistance from St. Mark if found to have qualifying financial need. Letter for additional assistance must be sent to the Tuition Assistance Committee. You must have also completed the FACTS application online. *Note: If you are awarded the Empower Illinois Scholarship or the Spalding Scholarship, your aid from St. Mark will be adjusted. If you receive the Empower Illinois Scholarship your Spalding Scholarship will be rescinded.

Shadowing Program

Shadowing is the process of following a student through all or part of a school day to gain insight into what a student experiences within the school setting. This allows the student to experience firsthand what it’s like to be a member of the St. Mark’s family!
