Happy Friday! What a beautiful week we’ve had…a little rain, a lot of sun, warm temps. Seems like summer is still hanging on! It’s hard to believe that next Friday will be mid-term for the first quarter. We will finish up ITBS testing next week for grades 3, 5, and 7. MAP testing was completed this morning with a bit of make-up testing. We are moving through the year at such a fast pace, and there are a lot of things planned for the next few weeks.
Grandparent/Special Person Day
Our annual Grandparent/Special Person Luncheon will be held on Thursday, Oct. 5th. A reservation form was sent home earlier in the week. All reservations are due in the school office by Wednesday, Sept. 27th. Please contact the school office if you need another reservation form.
Fundraiser Update-All orders and money are due this coming Monday, Sept. 18th
Marksmen Memos-Keep your eye out for the new version of the Marksmen Memos! Starting back up in October.
Book Fair-The Blue Ribbon Bookfair will be coming to us the week of Oct. 2nd. As we nail down times of business we will let you all know! We are excited that Michelle Botha has decided to chair the fair this year!

We are in need of someone to assist Ms. Armstrong with popcorn and soda sales on Thursday, Oct. 5th.
Volunteers are needed for our annual Harvest Festival. There are many opportunities still available for the evening. Thank you to Jenny Campbell, Jessica Armstrong and Nicole Aguilar for chairing this event! We are confident their fresh eyes and ideas will bring out the best this year!
Room parents are still needed for most of our classrooms.
Hurricane Harvey Collection
Thank you to everyone for the generosity shown to St. Catherine of Sienna. Our school collected $1500 to help them with their recovery from Hurricane Harvey.
Their principal shared this with Dr. Dillon:
“We have 170 students in our school, grades PreK3 – 8th. If you go to our website at www.stcats.org and click on the "Teacher" tab then on the left of the screen you should see "Flood Photos".
Please thank everyone for their efforts to help. We had 40 families displaced from their homes; 3 families who had to withdraw because the lost everything and moved, and we will have students who have not returned because they are still living away. We still have 4 staff members who are not back in their homes and have lost their cars also.
Please continue to keep our families in your prayers. Thank you again for sharing your spirit with us:)”

Helping Our School While You Shop
If you use Kroger for your shopping, please make sure you register your Kroger Plus Card at krogercommunityrewards.com using the St. Mark Code NP0 #10687. Kroger Stores no longer participate in the scrip program, however, a percentage of sales made using our school’s code is automatically donated to the school. This is an easy, no effort way to help our school.
You can also help our school by purchasing Scrip. St. Mark is able to purchase gift cards at a discounted rate. You purchase the cards for face value and the school makes a profit. This is such an easy way to help the school, with minimal effort on your part. Scrip is sold after all weekend masses. We are still having Renweb issues…this week’s issue has been the email portion of Renweb. We we have had trouble with emails not being delivered until much later in the day, or not until the next day. We have also had trouble with attachments. Renweb has changed most of what we use here at the school to Renweb1, which has been a source of great frustration for us as they work out the kinks, and as we learn to use a new system. We did receive an email from Renweb asking for patience, and that they hope to have all the issues resolved by later this year. Thank you again for your understanding.
