Join us tonight (Friday, 10/26) for our annual Halloween Harvest Festival from 5-8 PM. Cost is $5 per person and includes dinner, trunk or treating and games. The haunted house, death-defying slide, and cakewalk are available for an additional cost. Dress is your spooky best…all ghosts and goblins are welcome.

Día de los Muertos Celebration

On Thursday, November 1st, we will hold a Día de los Muertos celebration after 8AM mass in the gym. Students will be able to take part in a community ofrenda, a collection of objects placed on an altar during Día de los Muertos to celebrate a loved one that has passed away.

Dress Code

Just a heads up that from November 1st until April 1st, shorts and skorts are not allowed as part of the uniform. Sweatpants and flannel pants can be worn under skirts and jumpers on the playground for warmth, but are not allowed in the building. Girls may wear leggings under jumpers and skirts, but all leggings must be ankle length solid black or navy. Also, please remember that only the royal or navy St. Mark sweatshirts are part of the uniform. IESA sweatshirts can be worn outside for warmth, but are considered spirit wear, not part of the uniform.

Career and Resource Fair

St. Mark will host a Career and Resource Fair on November 8th from 6:00-7:30 PM, to share information about Career Exploration and Community Resources. We will also share information about Scholarship Opportunities (as it relates to St. Mark School and Peoria Notre Dame).

Illinois Invest in Kids Tax Credit Scholarship Program

The Invest in Kids Scholarship is offered through the Illinois’ Tax Credit Scholarship program and generates private dollars for K-12 scholarships to low-income and working-class students who attend qualified non-public schools throughout Illinois.

St. Mark had approximately $47,000 available to award families. 87 students applied for assistance and 18 students were awarded scholarships. This was 20% of the students needing assistance for this school year. Based on need and first-come, first-serve basis, these families received 100%, 75%, or 50% of their tuition, and the donor receives a 75% Illinois tax credit on the amount of their donation to the SGO, Scholarship Granting Organization. We are grateful to all of our donors, and truly appreciate their help!

As you can see, we still have a great need for donations. If you would like more information on donations and the tax credit available, please feel free to contact the school office.

The largest fundraiser for the school is looking for your help! St. Mark’s School’s 20th auction will be held on March 30! We are looking for another co-chair as well as help with all the committees (acquisitions, decorations, set up, dessert dash, etc.) for this very fun event! Interested in helping or learning more? Please contact Maria Carroll at mariakingcarroll@gmail.com
