Winter Reminders

Proper Dress

Students need appropriate clothing for outdoor recess. Many students did not have warm coats, gloves, and hats for recess this week. Girls may wear sweatpants, flannel pants, etc. under their skirts and jumpers for warmth, but these are not allowed in the classroom. Please remember to mark all clothing with names so that lost items can be returned to their rightful owners.

School Closings

Weather related school closures will be communicated to parents through Parent Alert. Please make sure that you have the correct phone number on file for notifications. The local television stations will also be notified of any weather related closures.

Winter weather means that cold and flu season are upon us. Please remember to keep your child home if he or she is exhibiting the following symptoms: fever above 100°, vomiting or diarrhea. Your child must be symptom free without meds for 24 hours before returning to school. Any child with strep throat or pink eye must be on antibiotics for 24 hours before returning to school as well. This helps to control the spread of illnesses in the school.
