Happy Friday and happy last day of the school year!! Our 8th graders have graduated, report cards are done, and all of the classrooms are being packed up! It seems like it wasn’t that long ago that we stood in the gym and greeted our students on the first day of the school year. Where does the time go? We will also say goodbye to two of our teachers. Miss Basil and Mr. Janicki have completed the ACE Program and are moving on. We wish them well on their future endeavors, and want them to know that they will be greatly missed. Remember, once a Marksmen, always a Marksmen! Thank you for being a part of our school for the last two years.
Report cards were sent home with students today. If your student did not receive their report card, please stop in the office to check and see if you have an unpaid balance. Report cards will not be released until all unpaid tuition, aftercare and lunch balances are paid. In addition, no records will be sent to other schools (including PND) until payment is made. We appreciate your prompt attention to these matters. If you are having difficulty meeting your financial obligations, you will need to stop by the office to see if payment arrangements can be made.
MAP Test Scores
MAP test scores were also sent home with students today. As always, if you have questions, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher.
Summer Office Hours
Our summer office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays 8:00AM-12:30PM starting next week.
Please stop by the office and pick up any unused and/or expired inhalers or medications. Any medicines left in the office will be disposed.
Easter Seals “Coins for Kids”
Thank you to everyone who donated to the Easter Seals “Coins for Kids” campaign. Your generosity will help provide services to children in need.
Our parish will host Totus Tuus July 1st through July 7th. If your child has never attend, plan to send them this year! If your child has attended, please send them again and tell your friends to send their children, too!
Totus Tuus demonstrates that one can be a faithful Catholic and still have fun. Campers participate in morning “pump up”, skits and songs, water fights, and more while learning about God’s love for them and the beauty of their Catholic faith.
The grade school program for grades 1-6 will run Mon.-Fri. 9AM-2:30PM and the cost is $30 per child/$50 per family. Our Jr. HIgh and High School program is for grades 7-12 and will be held Sun.-Thu. Evenings from 7-9:30PM. Cost is $15 per teen. The program will not be held on July 4.

120th Anniversary- Volunteers needed!
On Sat. June 10, we are having an adult anniversary celebration/alumni reunion for our school which is celebrating its 120th anniversary! The party runs from 5-9 pm. Fourth of July Parade
Attention parents: We are still in need of a chair and volunteers for the West Peoria 4th of July Parade. If we do not get the volunteers, we will not be participating in the event.
Financial Assistance Reminder
All families should have received their tuition contracts for the 2017-18 school year. St. Mary’s families that are in need of additional financial assistance need to contact St. Mary’s Parish. Msgr. Deptula is asking that each family submit IN WRITING the following to him:
Copies of the FACTS information
Copy of their tuition contract from St. Mark
A letter from a St. Mary’s Cathedral staff member verifying their active participation in the St. Mary’s Cathedral parish
A letter indicating exactly how much additional help they are requesting from the St. Mary’s Cathedral parish
These letters and additional documents are due to the Cathedral parish office by the June 15, 2017. By the second half of July, St. Mary’s will send the families’ letters indicating any additional help they can provide.
Any St. Mark families will need to submit a letter to the St. Mark Tuition Assistance Committee if you are seeking additional financial assistance. Please note that you must also have applied in FACTS.
Physical and Dental Requirements for 2017-18
Remember to schedule your appointments EARLY for the physicals, dentals, and eye exams that are required for the 2017-18 school year.
PHYSICALS – Students entering Kindergarten and 6th grade are required to turn in Physical forms before the first day of school. All immunizations must be up to date along with verification of lead screening.
DENTALS – Students entering Kindergarten, 2nd, and 6th are required to turn in Dental forms before the first day of school.
EYE EXAMS – Students entering Kindergarten are required to turn in their Eye Exam forms before the first day of school.
IESA Sports Physicals
All students participating in a sport or cheerleading need to have a sports physical on file prior to the season start date. Physicals must be turned in the office on or before the following start dates:

PND Men’s Basketball Camp
The PND Irish Grade School Basketball Camp will be held June 5th-June 8th. Boys entering 2nd-5th grades next school year will attend from 10:15-11:45AM. Boys going into grades 6th-8th next school year will attend from 12:15-2:15PM. Camp cost is $50. Registration forms can be found online at t.lacher with questions.
