St. Patrick Day Parade
This year our Region 1 schools have the opportunity to join forces with Peoria Notre Dame to celebrate in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in order to show our community support in memory of Randy Simmons.
The Faculty, Students and Staff are also cordially invited to Mass at the Cathedral at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 17th.
In order to have a count for the parade, we ask that you complete this brief RSVP so we may determine the number of people participating from each school. Please complete this by next Wednesday, March 13th. It will be expected that parents will supervise their own children.
LINK for attendance by school:
As soon as the parade director has our numbers, we will then be able to send out more specific information about where the parade will line up and end. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation with the planning of this parade. It will be a great tribute to Randy Simmons and his family.
Information on registration for the 2019-2020 school year has been emailed to parents/guardians. Please complete these forms as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
Please note that he registration cost increased March 1st to $75.
Help St. Mark by Utilizing our Small Fundraisers
We have a number of ongoing small fundraisers that help to raise money to benefit the school. We would like to encourage our families to help us raise funds by participating in these fundraisers. All of them are no cost and easy to participate in.
We would like to encourage our families to utilize our Scrip program whenever possible. Using Scrip benefits the school, and can earn a rebate back to families that purchase enough Scrip to earn the school $50 in profits. After the first $50 in profits, the school and family share any additional profit for the year. This rebate can be applied to things such as lunch balances, Aftercare, or tuition. Scrip is now available in the school office as well as after all weekend Masses.
- We have an ongoing collection of brand name ink and laser cartridges. (We cannot use remanufactured cartridges.) These can be dropped off in the school office any time. We receive 25¢ – 50¢ for each ink cartridge and $2 – $3 for each laser toner cartridge.
- When you shop at Amazon Smile instead of Amazon, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to SMS. Every item available for purchase on www.amazon.com is also available on AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com) at the same price. You will see eligible products marked “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on their product detail pages.
- Box Tops for Education products have a coupon on their packaging that is worth 10¢ for each coupon turned in. You can collect and turn these into the office at any time, but twice a year we have a classroom contest to see who can collect the most Box Tops. This classroom receives a reward of some time (usually a pizza party).
- The Coca Cola Giving Program donates money to a school you designate by entering the code located on a participating Coke product. Visit Coke.com/give and log in to or create your Account. Then, follow the links and instructions to search for and select your desired school, then enter your Code where indicated, and click to complete the donation. In order to donate to a school or cause on Coca‑Cola Give, you must first have a product code. Locate the code on packaging of any participating Coca‑Cola product (list located here: https://us.coca-cola.com/participating-brands/)
- The Scrip program enables the school to purchase gift cards at a discounted price. Individuals purchase the gift cards for face value and the school receives the difference. Percentage of profit varies from retailer to retailer. In addition, Krogers shoppers can register their Kroger card on Kroger.com for the school to receive a donation each time they make a purchase. (No gift card purchase needed.).
Ink cartridge collection: $63.85
The Coca-Cola Give Program: $177.96
Amazon Smile: $147.61
Box Tops for Education: $376.90 (first submission of 2018-19)
