Happy Friday! It’s the first week of Spring!! Warmer days will be coming soon, but in the meantime, please make sure that your child has appropriate clothing for outdoor recess. Spring days can be damp, chilly and windy, and we want to make sure that everyone is dressed for the weather.

PSA Thanks

A big thank you to the West family and Jim and Pat Nedza for all their help with the St Patrick’s Day parade! And thank you to all of you that braved the cold, wet and windy weather to show your St Mark and your IRISH pride!

Easter Break

Our Easter break will begin on Thursday, March 29 and continue through Friday, April 6. School will resume on Monday, April 9. Enjoy the time with your children.

Spring Pictures

Spring pictures will be taken on Wednesday, April 11. Information will be sent home after Easter Break.

SMS 19th Annual Auction

Our 19th annual auction, “Under the Big Top”, will take place tomorrow, Saturday, March 24 at the Itoo Hall. Doors will open and the Silent Auction will begin at 5PM. Dinner will begin at 6PM, and the Live Auction starts at 7PM.

If you are not coming to the auction, you can still help us make the night a success by making a cash donation. Once again this year, we have a donor who will match every dollar over $50,000.

Yearbook Orders

It’s time to order your yearbook! This year’s yearbook is a full-color publication. Order forms were sent home last week and can be returned order to school with $11 for each book ordered. If you would like to order a copy online, please visit: inter-state.com/yearbook and enter the code: 23522V. Online ordering will be available until March 30th. We will hold a book signing party toward the end of the school year for all students who purchase a yearbook.

Spalding Scholarship

The John Lancaster Spalding Scholarship Endowment Fund was established with funds raised in the Diocese of Peoria ROOTED IN FAITH Campaign. This scholarship is need based and awards to be used in the 2018–2019 school year will be announced by May 30, 2018.

The application deadline date is April 15, 2018, and all 2017 tax documentation/requirements necessary to complete the application must be submitted to FACTS by that date. Families are encouraged to apply early. Parents are be urged to apply online and can access the FACTS application form at: online.factsmgt.com/aid. The application is available in both English and Spanish.

Empower Illinois Scholarship Application Update

Parents who applied for the Empower Illinois Scholarship need to monitor their email accounts!

You will have seven days after you receive an email with details on completing your application. We will be available to scan documents and assist families with completion of this process.

The computer lab will be available during the following times next week:

Monday 9-10:30am, 12:45-1:30pm

Tuesday 10:30am-12:00pm, 12:45-1:30pm

Wednesday 9:00-10:30am, 12:45-1:30pm

Please note that you will need to schedule your appointment for the beginning of an available time slot, and you MUST call the office to schedule an appointment. If these times do not work with your schedule, please call the office and we will work with you to find a time to complete your application.

Spring Musical-Peter Pan, Jr.

Tickets will go on sale Monday, April 9th in the school office. Shows are Friday, April 21 at 7:00PM and Saturday, April 22nd 1:30PM matinee and 7:00PM. PND Bunny Breakfast

Enjoy a morning of Easter fun at Peoria Notre Dame’s Easter Bunny breakfast on Saturday, March 24 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Cost is $3 for children 3 and over, $5 for adults. Activities include breakfast, arts and crafts, and an Easter egg hunt. Don’t miss out on what’s sure to be an egg-celent time!

Summer Camps

Summer STEM Camp

Jump Simulation will again be offering Summer STEM Camps this year to middle and high school aged children. The summer camps are an extension of the successful STEM Saturdays program Jump launched early last year.

Summer STEM Camps at Jump will provide students the opportunity to become fully immersed in the different areas of STEM through participation in five, half-day sessions, beginning in June.
