Happy Friday! Did you see the snow flurries the other night? Winter has arrived, and I, for one, am not the least bit thrilled. I have also noticed kids that aren’t very happy with the winter weather when they are out for recess. Please make sure that your children are dressed for outdoor recess. The older kids are really fond of wearing just their hoodies outside, but you might want to remind them to a least bring a coat to school with them. Please make sure that all winter gear is marked with your child’s name. This way, when they lay it down someplace, it can be identified and returned to its proper home.

The State of Illinois has created a new program through the Invest in Kids Act that will provide scholarships for children who attend Catholic schools. Scholarships could possibly cover up to 100 percent of tuition for the next school year.
There will be many families in Illinois interested in these scholarships. Scholarships will be offered on a first come, first served basis. To have the best chance of receiving one, it will be very, very important that you apply as soon as the application process begins. Right now, we are being told that the application process will start January 2. We will keep you updated about this and also how to apply for the scholarships. Additionally, we will offer help to families who want it in completing the application.
As this is a new program, application details are being finalized and we will share them with you as soon as they are available. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
