Happy Summer! I hope that everyone has enjoyed the first two weeks of summer vacation. Summer will fly by, and before we know it, a new school year will begin. Our teachers are already hard at work planning for the next year! Part of this planning will include tweaks to our dress code. As soon as these changes our approved, we will send out a copy of this revised dress code. In the meantime, please do not buy school shoes for your children. Also, as a clarification, skirts and jumpers MUST be our uniform plaid. Solid navy skirts and jumpers are not a part of our school uniform.
Welcome to our new families who are receiving their very first email from SMS. During the school year we send an email weekly to all families. During the summer we will send emails as necessary to communicate information about the upcoming school year. Please be sure to read these emails for important information about our school.
Our summer office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays 8:00AM-12:30PM.
120th Anniversary Celebration
St. Mark’s School will be celebrating its 120th anniversary with an adult party for alums, parishioners, and friends on Saturday, June 10th. Join us for 4:30 PM Mass, followed by a party from 5 to 9 PM in the school. Gondolas, snacks, and beverages, including beer and wine will be served. If you’ve always wanted to go down the fire escape, this is your chance! The only cost for the party is a donation. Come help us celebrate St. Mark School’s past and future! We hope to see you there!
A calendar for the 2017-18 school year was attached to the last eFolder for the school year. Our heat schedule was not included on this calendar. We will run a heat schedule from August 22rd until Labor Day with a 1:30PM dismissal. We WILL have Aftercare on our heat schedule days.
St. Jude Trike-a- Thon
Thank you to all who made pledges to our preschoolers for their Trike a Thon. The class raised $285 in donations for St. Jude.
We have report cards in the office that need to be picked up. If your child did not receive a report card, your family has a balance due for tuition, aftercare or lunch. Please stop by the office as soon as possible to take care of these financial matters. No permanent records will be transferred until balances are paid. This includes graduates. We would like to clear the books on this school year, so that we can begin setting up the new year in Renweb.
Our parish will host Totus Tuus July 1st through July 7th. If your child has never attended, plan to send them this year! If your child has attended, please send them again and tell your friends to send their children, too!
Totus Tuus demonstrates that one can be a faithful Catholic and still have fun. Campers participate in morning “pump up”, skits and songs, water fights, and more while learning about God’s love for them and the beauty of their Catholic faith.
The grade school program for grades 1-6 will run Mon.-Fri. 9AM-2:30PM and the cost is $30 per child/$50 per family. Our Jr. HIgh and High School program is for grades 7-12 and will be held Sun.-Thu. Evenings from 7-9:30PM. Cost is $15 per teen. The program will not be held on July 4th.
If you would like more information, please contact Mrs. Mischler at tmischler or Peggy Flynn at pegflynn
Gently Used Uniforms
While packing up your children’s school clothes for the summer, consider dropping off any outgrown, gently used uniforms at the school. We will take donations of clean, gently used jumpers, skirts, shirts, uniform pants and shorts as well as uniform hoodies and spirit shirts. Clothes can be dropped off in the office during summer hours. We will plan to hold a used uniform sale in July. The dates will be sent out.
